  1. Ok folks, I promised and here it is! Garmin is pleased to announce it has received Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) STC for the GFC 500 autopilot in select Mooney M20 C, D, E models (1965 and later) and M20 F and G models, in addition to the Cessna 172RG series aircraft. Parts for both models can be ordered now, with shipping expected to begin by the end of December.
  2. Sure! Shoot me an email
  3. Hey there old friend! The Avidyne is working great that I bought earlier in the year! Can you send me that ACAD file please?
  4. You are correct and if anyone is interested, I have a special on some Aspens going on. Contact me if interested.
  5. Hold up, if memory serves me correctly., the Aspen E5 cannot display 2 Navs at this time. It can display info for a GPS and a Nav but not 2 Navs.
  6. All I have currently is a E and a K CAD File
  7. Did you happen to bang on the top like we used to do with our old TV sets? That seems to work 12% of the time for us. LOL. Let me know if you need a hand and we fit you in. You are not far so buzzing down here to 3S8 would be a quick trip
  8. You actually only need to do a correlation check to verify no leaks but not a full fledged IFR Cert.
  9. Encoders can go bad, especially the older ones and it may be time to replace. One of the good things is a lot of them are wired the same with a 15 pin connector if you are going to keep using Gillham Code lines. The one in question is incorporated into the Altimeter which introduces a little bit more of a challenge. @jaylw314you are in Corvallis and I am in Grants Pass. If need be, I have one here in my desk that we can swap out for you and it shouldn't cost too much to do. It is a SSD120 and depending on the one you currently have, it could just be as little as 2-3 hours to replace and check out, if the old one is truly bad. My question is "What makes it seem intermittent? Why are you suggesting it is intermittent?" Are you seeing a difference on the transponder or the preselector not being reliable?
  10. That was me actually cliffy. From what I see still something is going be big for us here soon. From what I have been told by "Brand X", it should be within the next 2 weeks. I see the installation of the servos already in drawing form and where it included in the current coverages of installation manuals. Let's hope it comes true!
  11. You haven't met Pete yet have you? Lol
  12. At times this may happen and will true up as described. However, there is a Tech Note TN2017-02 that an Aspen Dealer can perform. It takes about 2 hours to perform and it calibrated the either the Airspeed or Altitude Sensor or both. We just had to perform one last week. It is a little uncommon but common enough to cause a Tech Note to be Aspen to be generated. What you are seeing however is not too abnormal if it trues up in flight. If you would like more info, let me know and I will see what I can do to help you out.
  13. Way to go Bryan! Glad to see you took care of this as you always do! Good on you!!!!
  14. Chris where are you located? If you are on the west coast, maybe you can swing by and see if we can help out.
  15. David, am sending you a PM. Do not want to air anything that can be taken as not uplifting in public out of respect for others.
  16. Well what radios and Transponder do you have? Maybe we can help.
  17. David, I truly wouldn't mess too much with that. I think you are doing the right thing by putting the correct sensor in for what it is calling for. Things like this happen and if this is the only issue you are having, you had a great job done and you should feel very comfortable with the job that was done. I am not sure who did the installation, but I am sure they did a good job. Whatever you do, if they did the installation well and there are minimal issues, let them know it. It is always good to hear both positive and constructive feedback from customers. This is a very hard industry and at times it is thankless as a lot of folks and pilots just do not understand how difficult it is to have everything go without any issues. These people bust their humps and even if it is a company who puts other shops down, they still need positive feedback to help try and turn them around. It is a small industry and working together is how we get things done. Good on you!!!!
  18. The PSI rating DOES matter. We just had a similar issue on the Dynon Skyview HDX system and is relative as to what voltage the sensor is putting out because the G3x system is looking for "XX VDC" so if the 150 is only showing "20 PSI" by getting the 75 PSI rated one WILL fix the issue because it is showing 1/2 of what you are wanting and once you get the properly rated PSI sensor, it will read correctly because it will be 1/2 of the rating and will give you 2 times the reading as it will vary proportionately. However, there is a setting you should be able to change to make it read correctly as that is a Garmin sensor and if you read on the shoe tag on the sensor, you will see the PN and it should be in the settings selections for that sensor and once you change it, it will be just fine!
  19. Verify there aren't obstructions. At times, debris can cause this and cleaning the sensor can help. Also, it is probably the setting. If not, let me know and we will take it from there one step at a time.
  20. Great to hear! Sorry I was offline for a few days. Fred, exciting news!!!!!!!! I am still sending you the proper hardware for your rear mic jack so it will be correct.
  21. Perfect! We are right next to the fuel tanks at 3S8
  22. Replied Fred! Also, I see that Oregon is not colored in on your maps above. Hmmmm.....we need to fix that! LOL. I hope it is the issue and we are more than happy to help out!
  23. @0TreeLemur if you need one of these washers, let me know and I will put one in the mail for you
  24. Here is an excerpt from the SPA400 Manual
