  1. Thank you everyone for the emails! Keep them coming and you can add to the AP the need for the new version of the D10A
  2. YES!!!!!!! I just spoke to my Dynon guy and he wants all of that! Even to see if it can work with other standby instruments as well.
  3. Well send me an email so I can get it to my guy as well.
  4. Also cold solder joints on the jacks can cause this as well. Good info to all @PeteMc! Kudos
  5. Thank you Anthony! You as well! Look at my post for Dynon AP as well and send me an email please according to that. I am trying to get Dynon off of their hands and am working with one of their guys to get this hammered out.
  6. Good Day Mooneyspacers! So I have been working hand in hand with Dynon Sales and we are trying to develop a plethora of support to push the AP for the Mooney Airframes and try to get them off of their hands. What I need, if possible, is for as many MSers to send me an email about as it pertains to the interest and need for the Dynon AP for our Airframes, even if yo already have another manufacturer's installed and will not get one, it's about choices. Please have it include how important it would be a the positives you, personally, you see with it and what the implications COULD be, for you the individual, of going with another Manufacturer if they do not get this going soon as they seem to be dragging their feet. Please do not reference, "Per your post on Mooneyspace" or "As you asked on MS". Just put in the subject line "Dynon AP Timeline". I am trying to get this pushed through a bit faster and have been in discussions with one of my sources within Dynon and we are building a united front to try and get this passed faster than they are currently running. Send emails to: Gbaker@bakeravionics.com I will NOT send Spam as I do not believe in that kind of dribble. @carusoam spread the word!!!!!
  7. Paul you are the winner today!!!!! That is pretty much the long and the short of it. It may work, but will be degraded to a non-useable level.
  8. We install them usually close to the GAD29B for ease of installation and wiring purposes. If that isn't as easily accessible, then where you are thinking should be fine.
  9. Which installation manual are you looking for?
  10. By chance have you looked at your headset and mic jacks to be certain they are isolated from the panel and/or ground? That can induce issues as well as if you have a "music jack" to plug and iPad or phone into. If they are not isolated via insulation washers, it is most likely a culprit. Other than that, the shielding for the audio panel could have came loose and be certain to check the JPI you have as well as I believe that there is an audio line going from there to the Audio Panel. You said you "checked the mags"? In what manner? Be certain that the P Lead going to the actual mags has a shield over the wire and that shield is in fact grounded as well. It could induce issues as well. Because it is "popping" is seems like a mag wiring issue. Not a mag issue, a mag wiring issue. Also ensure that the strobe lights are not on as well to see if it could be coming from the strobes as well. I will check back to see what you find. If yo need more direct advice, either call or email me directly. We are here to help. P.S.- Anthony @carusoam check out the title on my profile to the left here. Oh yeah baby!!!!!!
  11. Well, compare to STec and then you will understand. We have to be realistic in what we compare and decide as affordable is. TT is $5100 for a basic AP, GFC is $7500-ish, STec is $20k. The TT is limited if you read the specs and what you get as well as the quality. There is nothing wrong with it, it is what some folks, as well as me, think of as a cheap AP. The GFC500 you have plenty of features that will last you for a long time, read the specs and compare what you can do compared to the TT, head and shoulders more! The cost of that, to me and others, is affordable. The STec Digital AP has a little more features than the GFC, read the specs and compare, and the price tag, to me and others, is a lot. I appreciate the question, however, if you put cheaper parts on the aircraft, will it perform as well as the higher quality ones? Are there different levels? Are some considered expensive, more affordable and then just cheap? Yes, that is what we are comparing here in my opinion. I appreciate your questions and research.
  12. TT does not need the "extra box" aside from a G5 or Aspen for GPSS.
  13. Bryan, call me Monday so we can talk about this and I need to get you here in January too. I have an opening for you. I got your message just been busy like you couldn't believe.
  14. Lol, it's all good brother! Hope all is well with you and you have a great season!
  15. The G5 system will run less than 3k for parts and should be included with the GFC500 labor, to be honest because it is a part of the AP system. At most if you are going to separate, the G5 installed should cost about 5k. It will not replace the 6 pack. It can replace the Attitude or DG is all. The rest of the info on it is secondary, not primary.
  16. You are correct however to drive the GGC, all you would need is a G5 system. So I do not see the 30k "other equipment" needed as some folks discuss. Sure the Trutrak is less, but if anyone has flown behind both of them, there is no comparison. It is all about choice and what you are looking for. Think of it this way, why do people buy Mooney's vs a 172? That's pretty much what happens when GFC is compared to a Trutrak.
  17. I think everyone thinks that you can use any Nav or GPS for the TruTrak which incorrect. It still needs the same equipment as the GGC with the exception of with the Trutrak you can use either the Aspen or G5 unless you are a VFR type pilot in which you still need a digital, low end, GPS. FWIW.
  18. Call Aces Aircraft out of Minden, NV. Dan Hoban is the owner and has a Mooney as well and he can take care of you. Let him know I sent you.....better yet, don't....it may be better that way! LOL
  19. Thank you and DEFINITELY call Scotty as well! Him and I have worked together on a few things and he is just great!
  20. Great news! My experience has been with BK, especially the AP, has been generally their lead time has been WAY out sorts. Our last 2 BK APs literally took 5 months to receive all of the parts. They ship everything through Aviall, a Boeing company and their logistics have been sub-par at best.
  21. I totally understand your position and agree with you more, I couldn't. Things are stupid expensive these days and I don't make much, I own the company, I'm poor. Too many hours, not a big enough paycheck. I am doing what I am good at and started the company to teach my children a trade and give them a future. I truly feel for aircraft owners, no kidding. It is a passion and at times a necessity. I enjoy working with owners more than companies. It means a lot to us and we do our best to educate and give as many options as possible. Thank you for your comments! They are very well received!
  22. So I take it you are not interested? So please educate all as to what can't the GFC500 do versus "your AP"? I am legitimately curious and interested. Thank you in advance.
  23. Well everyone here it is, as promised! Garmin is pleased to announce it has received Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) STC for the GFC 500 autopilot in select Mooney M20 C, D, E models (1965 and later) and M20 F and G models, in addition to the Cessna 172RG series aircraft. Parts for both models can be ordered now, with shipping expected to begin by the end of December.
