  1. Only one I have experience with is an old 540.
  2. Great picture! We like pictures around here.
  3. That's pretty cool. Only thing I can say is that it sounds expensive. I doubt all the expense is being carried by the members, so that leaves the party that has the most money -- probably BMW and, to a lesser extent, other suppliers of parts and accessories. At this point, I don't think Mooney could pony up the bucks, and we are such a small segment of the market, other supliers of parts and accessories probably don't see much value in offering discounts.
  4. ^^^THIS^^^ There is another thread here that essentially says: With LEDs it (1) doesn't do much, (2) doesn't hurt anything, and (3) is a pain to remove because of limited access on some airplanes.
  5. I agree with your statistical analysis. That said, this may be a type club. Members with products to sell usually offer discounts to other members, and I read about members hosting fly-ins with some regularity. I get a lot from MooneySpace in exchange for a tiny amount of money.
  6. First, welcome to MooneySpace! Second, you are responding to a post that is 4 years old. Third, if Paul is even around here anymore, he likely won't see your post unless you get his attention like this: @gsxrpilot
  7. I did not go back to the beginning of this topic, but time on engine vs calendar time is also an important metric For example, 150 hours on the engine since overhaul 10 years ago may not be good.
  8. Here's one for $195 under TSO specification C66A: https://www.pilotshop.com/catalog/avpages/comant105.php and another for $526 under TSO specification C66B: https://www.pilotshop.com/catalog/avpages/comantci1053.php They have similar specifications. What is the difference (besides $331)? EDIT: Found it: 3 holes vs 2. So, a hole costs $331.
  9. See https://mooneyspace.com/topic/44950-mapa-is-back-new-owner/
  10. Are you referring to the new location in the Pacific NW? I don't know what the California location can do these days.
  11. Many people here like to update the topic title with the word "sold" so others who are searching can skip the topic.
  12. And now you know why it's tapered.
  13. Rinsing with water is easy enough, but what can I do about fluid that ends up inside the wing or fuselage? It seems to accumulate in the tail -- maybe because there is TKS-fluid-laden air swirling around the empennage and there are places for it to enter.
  14. The fluid makers claim it does not corrode metal, so is this damage caused by the fact that the fluid attracts water?
  15. Some want two or three.
  16. He is not likely to accidently run across this post to a topic that was last active a year ago unless you do something to get his attention like this: @M20Doc Mikey looking for a part.
  17. I don’t know the (discounted) cost of the Garmin box, but its current value is either zero or 100% depending on whether Garmin will support the box. The answer to that question will likely inform decisions regarding how to proceed.
  18. Sounds like Yogi Berra.
  19. Excellent! I hoped it worked that way, but couldn’t tell from their web site.
  20. I see the advice is already flowing freely, so I'll just say Welcome to MooneySpace!
  21. Do you mind sharing the total cost for the placards you bought, including the ones you haven't used yet?
  22. Everything looks great! I'm particularly interested in the placards. Can you say more about how they are applied, and where you got them?
  23. I would be concerned about getting service in the future. From any Garmin dealer.
  24. Have any problem balancing those?
  25. The best way to get someone's attention is to type the "at sign" followed by their handle somewhere in the message like this: @n5756k. When typing the handle, I think it's case sensitive.
