    I had called McFarlane about these a few months ago, and they said they don't stock any cables for a Mooney. Fast-forward to last week when I sent in all three cables for replacement on my C. This week McFarlane sent the engineering drawings back marked (in RED, no less) "CUSTOM". The page for the quote clearly states: "Custom manufactured products are not FAA-PMA approved. Fabricated per customer data." Huuh? Should I be concerned? I'm guessing not, but can someone shed some light on this? TIA!

    Time to purchase a liability only policy. The only thing that will change is how many times you check the gear on final.

    I read somewhere (the maintenance manual?) they should be adjusted so it takes approximately 10 seconds to retract from full down. Check your manual.

    You're in good company. On my long cross country solo in a 152 I got to 12,500 and stayed there for 15-20 minutes or so. It was a HOT day and as I recall, that was about as high as I could get it! Good times...
