  1. It is pretty well known that Brittain uses FRAM gas filters for their vacuum filters. I think I checked the microns and they are same as most vacuum filters. Fram GA 12
  2. Ya we had to refer to the Lycoming Engine manual to figure out which way the alternator bracket is supposed to be installed. There are about three brackets and can all be installed in reverse.
  3. Ha. Don't pay those big city prices. I was comparing country prices. Hallitsville was 4.25 this week when I filled up there.
  4. I have noticed that diesel and 100ll prices are about the same in my area. 4.10 or so. Not sure what to think about that. But I have been driving the Subie more than the truck
  5. There should be Mooney panel lights for that. Unplacarded LED lights for now. The GPS navigators also have outputs for various LED lights/warnings.
  6. Describe broke. I had the pin come out of mine on the road. I pulled the cotterpins out of the travel tool box and put it back together.
  7. To check the electric pump.... When you turn the pump on or off in with the engine running there should be a slight increase or decrease if fuel pressure. So at least twice per flight you will check the pump.
  8. You can always double back the camera on the cord and tape the cord together.
  9. Nothing more fun that watching the mechanic take a steel punch and large ball peen hammer and wacking away to get the valve out.
  10. ha. the lubricants section of wally world has been sparce to dry. Two different towns
  11. I would still break that one somehow. I have a teak one of these (but I got the sextant holder instead of binoculars holder) (Just kidding it has a square space where I keep my notebooks) It just sits in front of the seat. I don't move my pilots seat so it is all good.
  12. I was going to say in the regulator. On some car alternators (newer automobiles) the regulator is built into the alternator so technically the over voltage protection is in the alternator.
  13. You mean other than installing a Dynon Skyview in the plane? You should probably have a how much maintenance and how much upgrades and renovations category.
  14. That would if you were turning it down from larger size. Getting the center on a lathe is hard work. So if the rod is already to size you need to be accurate on you hole. Ya I started with the lathe first.
  15. A 1/4 drill bit turned with your hand will get the dirt out of the holes.. You can buy Derlin rod the right size. Getting the hole in the center was done with a jig and a mini horizontal mill
  16. Did a decently long flight down to the coast to get my new flow with new toys down.
  17. also aircraft ownership and stuff. It was informative and can help with your AD report/check
  18. If you disconnect the linkage to the gear door it will swing out of the way for a regular #2 phillips. Make sure you pay attention to how the washers are done on the door linkage so you put it back the same way. Take a pick.
  19. The ones that fit the hole on the radio rack. Not being that guy. But seriously that is how I did it. Get box of soft flush rivets. See which ones fit the holes on the radio rack. Find appropriate drill bit. I replaced the two radio racks with a single piece. I had to since the Dynon 9" screen is wider than the standard 6" radio. It's just angle alum for holding the radios to the panel.
  20. I would be so inclined to get some size 8 sash chain https://www.ebay.com/itm/255349727622?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=255349727622&targetid=1262779893289&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9061130&poi=&campaignid=13920181166&mkgroupid=124965446876&rlsatarget=pla-1262779893289&abcId=9300614&merchantid=522565353&gclid=Cj0KCQiArt6PBhCoARIsAMF5waj4n5tRMcdnzru5u-36fE_sNLB1Xw0ccdd2YEY43dC9-hswhEyiw5YaAin0EALw_wcB and some stainless ringy dingy from the sailboat tackle box. AKA split rings. https://www.ebay.com/itm/184375502335?epid=5041716580&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item2aeda2e5ff:g:O6EAAOSwSkFfH7MP&amdata=enc%3AAQAGAAACoPYe5NmHp%2B2JMhMi7yxGiTJkPrKr5t53CooMSQt2orsS7UXID%2BRPOSNsnm8kYPghtPowPQdIqn3UOW2er4r0so%2BphJqXgSQ%2F8u%2FD52k%2FzLEJyRkbg0Lj02rdfNq65G2iw7z6m11hr5nNEl%2B8tTT8ic90Q%2Bo6R%2BaPw8WOMh9xN3cgVEyTcNKrLWqWQ9DBu2b%2BFlEXKYTGapShuyDgQRYt7dW1SvM21lVG1wadBlPe6p6ImLB2mklAqoP4MLVT9SR3qVlnKMboebgEgiyLbJBia9CH2FAL7GsCrrTr%2Fg6FPMWaJAR%2FRdFSnPcSBe%2BLosg7wN4lIx06Rs4IWnzTX491UNkn3RBXrNz1MwrF6eGb8a%2FTEdo5fTiZtSdQnYofppM34e%2BtyjzmQ5K5JMrMTJJTeRCXV%2BlP8Qw7CBSGynvMGd45LV%2BUE6JClXQ3Zer7iUnJ2egnrxNFu2CJxDDkff%2BGipnrG%2Bgpa2A6VajlRGIfCQaUY0M1%2BeSDwS%2Fhx5STO5iKS%2F4saW0ehSCuueKLvQbRQ71o8nv8ZYY2naERvaiixta9yEvVMizyLfYx2nKbnIXeSOb9vr0Qg5z3Q30tvwtSM%2F9LBT4ejJJbImoglb5gBmn8dAaWylZKzRzgBRsVE6k87MCAqH%2ByWkFHimosB18zyC73TONFXF90k8D7uD0hc3V0jg0tghzct3RloB%2Fe9%2BPo9S62tkZh0oZy91LovSdY1rKfhSl1%2Bhk3AR6ZenRNZpzWP%2BDEjiVAYgfR69Sm5KxCMyaYMEoxBiBnABbin663JABPwnVbrzCvzPIdokNNSRbm6WmOoQyK9qA%2FiAPwRTDPVcyiUmANhpPYymD73pe09TQLV06dQhvyajZmTthvFXMCX6bDDpFKzxPPKGR8yTuMww%3D%3D|clp%3A2334524|tkp%3ABFBM8MThntZf
  21. Here is a dumb question. Are the Mooney Safety institute and MAPA one in the same?
  22. Yep I was thinking that today. Y'all live in my head you know. It's not that they jammed the seat, it's that they did not figure it out and make it right. When I work on the plane it is always "better than factory". That way no one knew I was there. Funny story my dad and grandpa were building shop/barns at the same time. A licensed electrician did my grandpas. We did my dad's. When we finished my dads and then seeing my grandpas, I said there is no way they will pass ours. The reason being is ours was way more neatly done than the licensed pro. box was labeled, wires in right corners in the box. It's the little things. All the screws in the plates up and down,
  23. On some Brittin TC there is an adjustment knob that will turn the plane left or right. Also if you have an Accutrak make sure it is off. it also has a turn left or right knob.
  24. I've jammed mine on...... It's easier to do than you think it is. I will go hang my head in shame.
  25. if you go to fast you can get the shimmy. Holding a bit of BACK pressure on the yoke will fix that.
