I'm looking for a PIREP on the weekend maintenance seminars sponsored by MAPA with Jerry Manthey. I'm considering going to one and possibly taking my A&P/IA who maintains about 10 Mooneys. If you'd rather send a private note feel free to message or email rcbelville@yahoo.com

FWIW that trick works in the nose gear as well. Those bolts wear enough to put a lot of slop in the NLG. We changed a lot of the bolts and it might last another couple years.

ArtCraft and the Ambassadors are getting ready to host Mooney Mechanic legend Jerry Manthey on June 21 and 22.  There are still spots available for both days. This is an awesome and maybe one of the last opportunities to learn from Jerry.

If you would like to attend please call MAPA to register.  Telephone: (210) 525-8008

We will have donuts and strawberries in the morning, a great seminar, lecture about paint, free give aways, and lots of fun. Ambassador wear is also for sale.  Who could ask for a better educational opportunity.  So far we have planes coming from Tahoe to San Diego. Come one come all!

Hello there

There are still a few spot in both Saturday and Sunday for Jerry Manthey's maintenance seminar in beautiful Santa Maria, CA.  Come and learn from the best, meet other Mooney pilots, and support MAPA and Jerry Manthey. We are so very pleased that Jerry offered to do this seminar for us.  If you want to come, call LELA at MAPA today 210-525-8008

I had a question from a potential attendee so I thought I would post the question and the answer from Jerry. The pilot asked what topics were covered and what topics were Mooney specific. I called Jerry and this is what he said:
"We cover everything from the tip of the spinner to the tail light. All Mooney."
Manual has 17 chapters.  Seminar covers: corrosion, electrical, prop, fuel, mags, landing gear [major focus], preventative maintenance, documentation, regulations, flight surfaces, wheels, brakes, tires, ways to save money safely. At the end of class you all go to the demo airplane [or the participant who wants to] and go over all they have learned. He says he stays until all the questions are answered.

There are a few more spots.  Come on now, sign up.  The Ambassadors are bringing strawberries for the morning!!

Oh my bags are packed I'm ready to go...oh wait, only a 20 minute drive to Santa Maria

The rooms are ready for the seminar. Jerry and Ethel are here with big smiles on their faces.  The ArtCraft gang has made everything beautiful.  It is going to be a great weekend.  For those of you on the East coast, all you have to do is email Jerry to see if he can come your way. I know he needs a guarantee of a certain number to make the class a go.

I am attending today's seminar for early models. Mitch will be attending the later models tomorrow.  Thanks to all who have spread the word.  We are thrilled that ArtCraft is hosting and donating a detail service, that Jerry and Ethel made the long drive down to Central Coast, and that we all get to meet some new/old Mooney friends.

That's awesome! Sorry I can't make it, but I start my annual next week up at LASAR and I do the owner assist. I get all kinds of inside advise and education that way. I highly recommend it. The owner assist saves you no money, but it does get it done quicker because you're there to help and they can't not work on it if you're standing right there. In addition, you get your class like Jerry's, but one on one included in the price.

For those that can't do the owner assist for whatever reason, I highly recommend a seminar like Jerry's if you can do it. It could save your life one day. My insistence on knowing and inspecting all work done on my plane before I fly it home, has potentially saved my life IMO.
