AlanA Posted March 15, 2013 Report Posted March 15, 2013 Yesterday while troubleshooting a problem with my century autopilot in my 79 J, I pulled the autopilot breaker. The power to the A/P went off as it should, but it surprised me that my radio mic button no longer worked either. I reset the A/P breaker and the mic worked again. Is anyone else wired this way? If this is normal it seems like a bad combination to me - losing your A/P AND you ability to communicate at the same time you may have to rely on communication to navigate. Quote
N601RX Posted March 15, 2013 Report Posted March 15, 2013 Does your audio panel have its own breaker? Quote
Marauder Posted March 15, 2013 Report Posted March 15, 2013 My AP is on a separate breaker. I wouldn't want mine like yours. I don't think you want to leave it that way. Quote
Alan Fox Posted March 15, 2013 Report Posted March 15, 2013 You are probably losing the audio panel..... If not you have a grounding issue ...As the mic key is activated with a ground... Quote
