After a long 6 weeks the panel is complete! Mike at LV avionics has done a superb job of cleaning up the wiring mess behind the panel that has not been touched in years. They removed 36lbs of instruments including 9lbs of wiring. We netted 25lbs of usable weight. I will have more pics but here are a couple in the meantime of our Aspen pro 1000 PFD. He also finally fixed the autotrim gremlin that has affected our A/P for 2 years. All of our radios were re-tuned also. the right side of the panel just has our 496 and storm scope. She flys really nice.

Sweet. Have you weighed the plane and redone the W&B?

The W&B was re-done by the shop based on all the items removed and then added. We will re weigh probably at annual. Love the Aspen.

Yes they are great! I am not sure if i should install a second aspen or a gtn650 in addition to my 750 to replace a 430. Any opinions?

We didnt add the MFD because we could not justify the cost for what it had, we have ADS-B wx on the ipad mini, terrain on the G430 and 496, and plates on the ipad mini. As far as replacing the 430 with another unit, it all comes down to what additional advantages it will give you for the price. We kept our KX155 because it was in great shape after he re tuned it, we were originally going replace it with a 2nd 430 or 530.

Outstanding!  Very well executed.

I'd think twice about weighing it... if you're happy with what you have now after the math exercise, just stick with it.  You might not like what you get on the scales!

Oscar -- It sounds like we went down similar paths but you opted for the 750. I was all set to move forward on a 750 but I really wanted to upgrade to an HSI instead of buying a CDI that was compatible with the Garmin. It was then I learned about the Aspen products. I decided to buy the 650 and put in a Aspen PFD. Not only did it give me the HSI but also GPSS and interfaced with my old NAV/Com. During the installation was when I found out about the additional capabilities of the MFD. Long story short, I bought the MFD. I'm really impressed with the Aspen MFD. I want redundancy and the MFD gives me that. I'm very rarely looking at the 650 once the flight plan is loaded. Which means I am getting almost everything I directly from what is front of me. At some point I will upgrade to ADS-B and the interface is already there. When that happens, I will have weather and traffic overlaid or in a separate window on the MFD. When I do the next phase of the upgrade, I will be do add the ADS-B and a Garmin 650 to replace my older Nav/Com. Sorry for the lousy photo: post-9886-13610611215095_thumb.jpg
