There are some near us, too. That ground roll looked like twice mine just to rotate, then another takeoff length to break ground. But they are definitely moving faster than my little Mooney!

Bunch of 'em stationed here at Luke AFB, and occassionally transient ones land at Scottsdale and fly over my house.    They are loud AF.    Nothing stealth about them from that perspective.

I flew Strike Eagles with 2 x 25,000lb thrust PW-220 engines and I swear the F-35s are noticeably louder.

That crackling after MRT is added sounds like the Apollo rocket after they lit the fuse.

I think the sound is designed to drown out the radar reflections:D

We had all 3 F-35 models at our Central Coast Airfest (Santa Maria, CA) a couple of years ago.  There were 7 total at the airshow.

They all flew amazing demonstration flights for us!

A low unexpected pass over us shook us to our very soul!!   We did not see, nor hear  it coming.  The sudden incredible boom ( boom is a mild description) almost knocked us over!  I’d never experienced anything like that in my life!!!

I was driving across the Golf Links bridge in Tucson one day when a SR71 took off right over me. That was the loudest thing I have ever heard. And I had the windows up with the AC and radio on.
