ighazali Posted October 7, 2025 Report Posted October 7, 2025 I am looking for the interior piece that goes right under the throttle quadrant which allows for airflow and cabin heat. The plastic edging on my part is coming undone causing the metal flap to fallout. Also can someone please tell me where i can buy a BLUE prop lever handle because the Mooney currently has a black one and I would like to replace it with a blue one. Please see images.
Jsno Posted October 7, 2025 Report Posted October 7, 2025 Check with Mooney salvage yards for the vent piece. I would just paint the knob with blue paint. 1

Yetti Posted October 10, 2025 Report Posted October 10, 2025 Funny enough you should be able to buy a blue knob from Spruce Your vent does not look the same as my 75 did. might not be a stock vent. Cut out some alum or wood or plexiglass and paint to match. Yours only has 2 knobs there. my built in Dec 1974 1975 model also had the parking brake long with the other 2 vent controls. 1
bixmooney Posted October 10, 2025 Report Posted October 10, 2025 (edited) my console looks the same too, 75F model except below the lighting where the vent is. Here’s a picture of mine if it helps you. Black knob also. Edited October 10, 2025 by bixmooney 1

M20F-1968 Posted November 18, 2025 Report Posted November 18, 2025 Parts like this are more easily made than found. Take your could part and use it as a mold. Hand layup a new part. By rights, you should use antimony trioxide into the resin as a flame retardant. Use mold release. Sand and fit appropriately. John Breda 1

Mine just broke too : / I think I might just retrofit a Wemac vent but This is what Mooney said: I show part number 340282-001. The “Flapper” or Valve 340281-501 assembly, shows “no longer available” due to tooling.
bixmooney Posted January 21 Report Posted January 21 Yeah, i may do that. The mechanic put one on like that with the round wemac vent but it is too small. When I calculated the diameter surface, it was like 16/1 smaller. I am playing around with 3 d printing another similar style part and will share if it works out. My fall back position is to use a wemac vent 1

I would love to have the file as I do have a 3d printer at home but still very new to 3d printing so not too sure how to quite make the sketches yet!
Immelman Posted January 22 Report Posted January 22 I can't help you on the part. but on my 1966E the same area around the flap and trim indicators were coming apart. I removed and patched/repaired (from the rear side) with fiberglass. Sand paint done. It came out decently. My surfboard repair skills while not the best came in handy. the most difficult part was dealing with the cables and fasteners for the flap/trim indicators. 1
