KASE Posted August 22 Report Posted August 22 Hi all. Anyone had any experience with electric trim switch tripping to the off position on its own? This just started last flight. Seems to prevent the autopilot (KFC 200) from staying engaged as well. Any suggestions as how to tackle this issue would be greatly appreciated! Quote
Ethan Posted August 22 Report Posted August 22 I think that's a circuit-breaker switch. It could be that there's a short somewhere in the trim system. 1 Quote
KASE Posted August 22 Author Report Posted August 22 Thank you! Looks like a trip to the avionics shop is in my future. Quote
Sense Posted August 22 Report Posted August 22 Had a similar problem with Century 2000. Trim circuit board was fried. Quote
FADEC Posted August 22 Report Posted August 22 @KASE I removed my entire KFC200 system and have all the parts at the house if you need stuff to hang test ETC let me know Andy Quote
PT20J Posted August 23 Report Posted August 23 My autopilot was a KAP 150, but when it flipped the trim breaker/switch it was due to a fault in the autopilot computer. Quote
KASE Posted August 23 Author Report Posted August 23 Hmmm…hope it’s not the autopilot computer. Just sent it back to MidContinent for a $1,500 repair. Thanks Andy! I may reach out to buy some parts and pieces from you Quote
KASE Posted August 29 Author Report Posted August 29 Hi, Andy(Fadec) I am interested in purchasing and or troubleshooting parts for our KFC200 system. Thank you for your offer! How can we make contact? Gary aspencfi@gmail.com Quote
Alan Maurer Posted August 30 Report Posted August 30 I Have occasionally just bumped the switch with my hand and it will switch ff the autopilot. I am not a mechanic. Using G1000 avionics in 2008 Ovation Alan Quote
firelog1101 Posted September 7 Report Posted September 7 I have had this happen to my k200 aswell, I just push it back in. It has usually happened on landing, which has been a bit unnerving seeing the trim rocker not work. If you find out what's wrong please post about it Quote
