CMMPilot Posted August 18 Report Posted August 18 Just landed after a long cross country trip. (Florida to Edmonton Canada) and noticed a fuel drip when securing the aircraft. I confirmed this is not the sump drain. It is a threaded nozzle in front of that. See photos. any insight is appreciated Quote
MikeOH Posted August 18 Report Posted August 18 (edited) This MAY be the drain from the electric driven fuel pump (decowl and follow the line). If so, then it could be the diaphragm in the pump has failed. Edited August 18 by MikeOH I'm an idiot and wrote engine instead of electric Quote
EricJ Posted August 18 Report Posted August 18 That looks like the drain for the electric fuel pump. Your boost pump may be starting to fail. If you have the post-pump filter it may be that something there is loose and the fuel is running down to the drip. In any case it could use some attention. It's not hard to take the cover off there and expose everything to see what's up. Worst case your electric fuel pump may need work. Quote
Griswold Posted August 18 Report Posted August 18 Definitely the electric fuel pump. Reference page 350 in the Mooney M20K illustrated parts catalog. 1 Quote
PT20J Posted August 19 Report Posted August 19 It drips where there is an internal leak in the pump. Time to overhaul the pump before it fails completely. 1 Quote
