I’m looking for recommendations for or someone who can do a pre-buy inspection on a vintage Mooney near Little Rock, AR. It’s an E model. If you know someone or can do it yourself, I’d be very interested in hearing from you. Thanks for your time and consideration.

I am not sure how familiar you are with Mooney Service Centers (MSC).  Don Maxwell, located 190 nm away in Longview, TX, is premier. You probably saw that he hosts the annual MooneyMax.  Maxwell is also qualified and will undertake major airframe repair that others cannot handle.

I don't know where you are located and that may seem like a long distance to your or the Seller, but if you get a Pre-Buy from Maxwell there will be little unknown to debate regarding condition of the plane.

There is a hidden market, once you know what model and vintage you want you can find all US birds in the FAA register, letter costs you about 1$ a pop, chances are 1:100, that means writing 100 letters you may get a response, on 1000 letters you will get 5-10 responses, some owners are thinking about selling, but do not want to deal with tire kickers, somebody who writes sounds like a serious qualified private buyer
