Zorro Posted July 12, 2024 Report Posted July 12, 2024 (edited) Hello everyone, Any help would be greatly appreciated. So I’m in the market for a vintage Mooney. I’ve had my heart set on an E or F model for some time because they fit my price range and skill level. However, I’ve come across a few E - J models in my countless hours of scrolling, from different countries. Please excuse my ignorance, but I’m curious about what it would take to bring one in and register it with a new tail number. I know that a radio operators license is required when flying internationally and I have no doubt customs will need to clear it, but that’s the peak of my knowledge. Has anyone bought or brought one in from another country? If there’s another thread about this, I apologize for posting a similar question and would appreciate being directed toward it. Thank you. Import it from what country? Don’t forget that it was originally exported from the US. For instance there are many posts on importing from Canada. Quote

Plenty of discussion and examples. https://www.fnlpilots.org/blog/2021/02/imported-from-canada/ https://www.pilotsofamerica.com/community/threads/buying-a-plane-from-canada-and-delivering-to-the-us.125234/ Quote

You will get better results using the search engine in your favorite browser. This language will search only the MooneySpace site, and will return hundreds of topics with the word "import": site:mooneyspace.com import You can also just search for "mooney import" which usually works pretty well. 1 Quote
Zorro Posted July 12, 2024 Author Report Posted July 12, 2024 I appreciate all the help. Thank you for pointing me in the direction of previous discussions on this topic. I’ll “Google” it as well if that’s the route I eventually go down. Thanks again Quote
