I'm pretty deep into Foreflight so using it for checklists isn't a bad idea. I do like having paper in the pocket to refer to, it's hard for that to fail. Ordered the laminated Checkmate checklists, curious to see how I like them. With the Ovation, you have dual landing and taxi lights (4 total lights). Compare to most of the 12V system Mooney's with a single landing light. Not sure if a spare bulb is worth the effort for you. Quote

Hank Posted May 15 Report Posted May 15 This is my travel kit. Most tools are in the hangar, along with vacuum, air compressor, fan, extension cords, etc. Yes, I have a lightweight 50' extension cord for the engine heater when traveling during cold weather. The first picture is the opened container, the second has the contents spread out on a blanket on the wing. The black box is a 3/8 drive socket set. Quote

Matthew P Posted May 16 Report Posted May 16 Also keep a set of vicegrips near the front seats in the event that the door latch pin breaks, that's the only way you will be able to get out 1 Quote

Hank Posted May 16 Report Posted May 16 When it happened to me, I was able to flag someone down to open the door from outside. But it was the handle that broke, cracked where the pin went through. Quote

My door handle pin broke on a hot summer day with the sun blazing. Not much fun. Quote
M20F Posted May 16 Report Posted May 16 I recommend a refrigerator with Heinekens in it, let me know when you get it. I will stop by to borrow some of those tools you bought (probably never give them back), borrow a case of that oil, and drink all your Heineken. 1 Quote
Greg Ellis Posted May 16 Report Posted May 16 I am just being an ass here, but I have seen it written many times on Mooneyspace and it is incorrect. The name of the device is Gats Jar. Not Gnats Jar, unless you are having a serious bug problem... 1 1 Quote

201Steve Posted May 18 Report Posted May 18 If you fly long distances, I like to have a small oxygen rig to stay fresh over a long flight. And then a refill bottle at the hangar is key. Quote
