LeRoy Johnston Posted June 29, 2023 Report Posted June 29, 2023 Hi all--I have a 1996 M20J MSE. On attempted start-up yesterday I discovered the boost pump was inop. Checking the circuit board panel I discovered there is no circuit breaker for the boost pump. Does it maybe have a hidden fuse? Does anyone know how the circuit is protected? Since then, we have determined power is getting to the pump so we are looking to replace it with an overhauled pump. Pump is original and airplane has 2900 hours on it. But the question remains, why no circuit breaker? Thanks. Quote
Justin Schmidt Posted June 29, 2023 Report Posted June 29, 2023 The switch is a circuit breaker switch. Either the pump has seized/bad motor or the circuit breaker switch is bad. Quote

Aerodon Posted June 29, 2023 Report Posted June 29, 2023 I probably shouldn't reply without looking at the electrical drawings. On the M20K the primer button and hi boost button do the same thing (after the removal of the primer solenoid). The primer button is through a 10A inline fuse. The low fuel is through the fuel pump control box. Lowers the voltage I guess. I hate the Mooney combination of switches, circuit breaker switches , circuit breakers and the occasional fuse. Later models went the other way, down to 0.5A CB's for ammeter circuits. Aerodon Quote
