Anyone know why the 201 switched from C212 to C214 prop?

Much better performance is the short answer as far as I know.  You're free to install it on your 77 because Mooney has the 214 on the type certificate, so you do not need an STC or other approval to install it.  Leave the 212 behind!  

(I would still choose the MT, but if you can find a deal on a used & airworthy 214 that is still a great option)
