FXE FBO

Spending 5 nights in Fort Lauderdale. What's the best FBO at FXE? is there a better airport to land at?

Banyan there is one of best FBOs ever. ( best not cheapest  ) . The GO rental car co in their office is good too. Huge pilot shop connected next door.

Personally I would choose KPMP cheaper and the FBO is good

It might be a good idea to mention what constitutes ‘best’ in this case….

1) Often, there is a CB solution that makes the most sense…

2) Got wife and kids, would like the Family solution…. Probably includes cookies… 

3) Impressing the spouse on this 25^th  anniversary trip… go full red carpet!

Both Banyan (more famous, with a huge pilot shop) and Sano have good reputations. When I parked there for a few nights, I chose Sano and was very pleased with the service.

So I headed down there tomorrow -- planning KPMP. it seems SheltAir doesn't have tie downs or hangars, just chocsk on the ramp (which seems dodgy for Florida) and Pompano Aviation doesn't answer their phones. :/

We don't get anywhere near the transient volume at PMP, compared to FXE. If you want to live the lifestyles of the rich and famous, go to Banyan at FXE. The lobby alone is amazing. Pilot shop is right there, and a great restaurant (Jet Cafe) for breakfast or lunch. They don't do dinners, because they only prepare jet catering meals after lunch. 

Sheltair at PMP is not open very late, so be aware of that for arriving and departing. But there is 24 hour self service fuel at PMP at $6.19 about 1/4 mile west of the Sheltair FBO. Pompano Aviation is not really an FBO, they manage hangars and a self serve fuel pump.
