Since you have it that far apart, you might consider removing the ceiling and baggage compartment panels and replacing the fiberglass insulation with the Mylar-backed foam. I did that and I think it keeps the airplane cooler when outside in the sun and warmer when the heater is in use. I don't think it made a lot of difference in the noise level, but I didn't measure it.

I need to redo the interior at some point. I’ll address the insulation then. I had no idea there was fiberglass elsewhere in the airplane. I’ll check it out

Yeah, I was surprised, too. I have a ‘94 MSE. Apparently Mooney saved a few bucks by only putting the foam on the sides.

I will 3rd the removal of annunciator and would also move the compass to the panel to clean up view.

I’ll ask again about the annunciator. They might be too far along at this point. I am also at budget for this project. I am hesitant to spend more at this stage. It probably wouldn’t be too expensive though. I like the idea.

Nice. We have basically the same airplane.

Well, we all have to stop somewhere. In my case, I still and Gear Down, Gear Unsafe, Speed Brake, Pitot Heat, Alt Volts, Start Power, and Boost Pump lights, so I just left the annunciator panel connected. I like having those annunciators grouped together and I had room in the radio stack. But, everyone has their priorities. For me $80K+ installed was enough, though.

What product, what thickness, and what adhesive?

I purchased the Mooney material in bulk from Oasis Aero in Willmar MN. It comes with the Mylar on one side and peel and stick adhesive on the other.

When you say "Mooney material" is that a factory item?

Final panel design. Being cut now.

I was able to get the shop to replace many of the switches with circuit breaker switches. They did not want to replace the field alternator or master switches.

Added 2x LEMO plugs on the panel and moved GA headset plugs to panel.

I found a typo, did you?

I would move this

SPEED BRAKE EQUIPED: FOR OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS AND LIMITATIONS SEE

SUPPLEMENT IN OWNER'S MANUAL OR PILOTS OPERATING HANDBOOK. "

to the left hand side along with the other 'placard'

Also, can it be shortened by deleting 'or pilots operating handbook'?  What does the STC say?

Did you mean to misspell EQUIPPED?

That was a cut and paste from the panel file.  I found Aviod, Andy found Equiped.  I didn't post my find immediately because I knew that if you looked more you would probably find more.

Closing in on getting this finished. Question for the group. I am looking at putting new switches in since the rockers are hard to come by / expensive. Do they need to be TSO or will anything work?

Any recommendations / links? For instance, I have seen others with toggle switches in place of the rockers.

Thanks!

Some of those rocker switches have a built in breaker.  My avionics master went bad so my radio guy replaced it with a toggle switch and a three amp fuse as a temporary measure. I have obtained a correct replacement rocker switch (very difficult)  but have been in no hurry to get it installed.

The replacement switches are apparently breaker toggles and have a circuit breaker built in. I didn’t know that was a thing until recently. Kind of cool.
