Just relocated to North Carolina and looking for reputable and knowledgeable mechanic for Mooney M20K. Any recommendations or experience to share?

Welcome to the Carolinas. AGL is always a top vote.  Cole Aviation in Dalton Ga is a top vote around here as well. I’d say can’t go wrong with either based on experience and reputations around here.

An enthusiastic thumbs up for AGL at KMRN.

Also, I am very well pleased with John Sanders, at KEDE. Quietly competent, meticulous and knowledgeable, he looked after my 1980 K for several years to my satisfaction, and now does a very good job on my 1999 20 S.  It is lovely that his shop is now right across the ramp from my hangar, otherwise I’d be making the cross-NC journey westbound to see Lynn Mace at AGL. Either way, you can be confident of a good, honest job.

AGL gets great reviews…

Cole also gets great reviews…

And for a shop slightly North…consider RPM,a great shop, run by Byron aka Jetdriven….

Best regards,

Good Morning! Give Lynn (828.216.6482) or myself (Tamara 828.216.5955) a call or text and let us know what you need. We’ll do whatever we can for you.

Cole did the prepurchase on my plane.  Here is a picture of the wing I’m replacing because they didn’t find the spar cap corrosion.  Easy to miss expensive to fix.

Yes it is easy to miss… about the only way to catch it on a PPI would be blistered skins. Lynn has found spar cap corrosion on 2 out of all the Mooneys we see - one of which went to the scrap yard, the other we sent to Maxwell for repair. The only thing worse in than calling the prospective buyer is the phone call to the seller

AGL sounds great!  I'm located in southeast North Carolina and am looking to purchase a Mooney in the coming months.  Any recommendation for a good Mooney mechanic in the Wilmington NC or Myrtle Beach SC area?

Mimi seems to know a good one up the coast near Edenton. For a Mooney, that's next door, and AGL is close. @Amelia?

We’ve flown to visit my Grandmother on the Coast. From Warren field KOCW to KMRN (where we are) it’s 1.5hr flight.

Farther than I thought. I've lived in several NC towns, just never up Edenton way.
