cwaters Posted September 27, 2021 Report Posted September 27, 2021 These past few weeks have been a whirlwind of things happening so I'm just now getting a chance to write up my first annual with 201QE. This is not that write up; I just wanted to provide a PIREP for AGL Aviation at Foothills airport. I’ve owned my 77J since Jan 2021 and was coming up on its first annual. I set everything up with them to do an owner assist annual for mid October after getting my IR at the end of August. Then I ended up having a work trip come up that would take me out of the state for about 3 months from September to December. I called up AGL and they were able to get me on the calendar before my work trip started. I finished my IR training, dropped the plane off at AGL and they were able to perform the annual in about a week. They worked with me on my schedule and were super helpful getting my bird inspected and the squawks fixed. They found a handful of things that needed to be fixed and nothing was deferred (I’m a bit hard on my brakes apparently). Bottom line, if you’re located in the south east they are worth taking a hard look at for maintenance at a MSC. 3 Quote
Mcstealth Posted September 27, 2021 Report Posted September 27, 2021 My apologies ahead of time, You may want to move the comma in your heading. To me, grammar wise, you are telling me you are through with AGL, never to use again. Your post is obviously the opposite. Glad you had a good experience with them and congratulations on your IR No flames everyone please. Just sayin' 1 Quote

I was 100% sure that this was a "never using them again" message. But it's actually a nice pirep for what sounds like a good shop 1 Quote
GeeBee Posted September 27, 2021 Report Posted September 27, 2021 Ditto me. Need to rephrase it. 1 Quote
Bartman Posted September 27, 2021 Report Posted September 27, 2021 Keep the comma and change the word “with” to “by” 1 1 Quote
Rick Junkin Posted September 28, 2021 Report Posted September 28, 2021 +1 on AGL! Lynn, Nathan and Ron did my last annual and found things that hadn't been found in my 5 years of ownership, some very significant like the access panels for inspecting the wing attach bolts hadn't been opened since it was painted in 2014. Like @cwaters I'm just over the hills from AGL in east Tennessee. I was having a roll-off issue that I had isolated to asymmetric elevator rigging and flew over to have Lynn take a look - he adjusted the elevators while my wife and I were at lunch with a mutual friend and there was no roll-off on the trip home. My only regret is that he and Tamara couldn't join us for lunch. Good people are sometimes hard to find. Look no further than Lynn and Tamara Mace at AGL. Cheers, Rick 4 Quote
Amelia Posted September 28, 2021 Report Posted September 28, 2021 This habitual proofreader had the same reaction. “Oh, dear, what in the world happened? And I had such a good experience with those nice and very competent folk.” Glad I got it backwards. I will return to AGL one of theses days, for the second set of eyeballs on The Beastie, but the recently-lured mechanical genius right here at KEDE is so very careful and honorable, not to mention convenient, I’ve stayed home. But still noisy in my praise of my MRN friends. 1 1 Quote

PT20J Posted September 28, 2021 Report Posted September 28, 2021 Naw, leave it. More people will read it this way. (Eats, Shoots & Leaves is a great book). Quote
bradp Posted September 28, 2021 Report Posted September 28, 2021 LOL. Nathan and Tamara and Lynn are great. Not so sure about that Ron character though ;-). My plane is with them for annual now. I’ve been nothing but happy with their maintenance and the fact that they are down to earth good people is nice too. 1 Quote
carusoam Posted September 28, 2021 Report Posted September 28, 2021 Great pireps for AGL… Lynn knows Mooneys… Best regards, -a- Quote
