Jocbay Posted May 8, 2021 Report Posted May 8, 2021 Came across this while reading my POH. Am I seeing this right? Do I have a little fish stowed away in my port side fuel tank?? fish in fuel tank.pdf 1 Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted May 8, 2021 Report Posted May 8, 2021 Your plane is not airworthy without the fish. As an IA, I would have to write a Up a discrepancy on your annual if the fish was missing. Quote
Skates97 Posted May 8, 2021 Report Posted May 8, 2021 I want to know what kind of fish can survive in 100LL, and is is safe to eat a fish that lives in 100LL? Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted May 8, 2021 Report Posted May 8, 2021 These fish are the ones: https://oceana.org/blog/fueled-methane-gas-bizarre-animals-flourish-deep-sea-“jacuzzis” Quote
PilotX Posted May 8, 2021 Report Posted May 8, 2021 Checking my POH to see if I need new digital fish for my avionics upgrade... UPDATE: Was afraid I was going to have to send more AMUs to Garmin but I don't have fish. Phew. Quote
carusoam Posted May 10, 2021 Report Posted May 10, 2021 Some people call them fuel floats... Others call them fuel bobbers... Share that with @fuellevel... Best regards, -a- Quote
kortopates Posted May 10, 2021 Report Posted May 10, 2021 No no, not an anomaly, that's totally accurate for a mooney with cracked fuel cap o-rings that allows the tank to fill with water. The result is an aquarium rather than fuel tank! 1 Quote
Yetti Posted May 10, 2021 Report Posted May 10, 2021 That's interesting the Fuel Servo is called the fuel injector and the fuel injectors (nozzles) are not shown 1 Quote
fuellevel Posted May 13, 2021 Report Posted May 13, 2021 Yep. Just used large bobbers for Halibut fishing - Amazing that buoyancy works and works well. The funniest thing is lately when I talk to boat manufacturers about our tech and they tell me otherwise - I crack up (internally) as they don’t get the irony. If you thought Aviation was hard to convince - now I have a challenge 1 Quote
