M20K experience CFI

Hey, I’m looking for a CFI in the Los Angeles are (Burbank) who has 50+ hours in a Mooney M20K 231.  Need a checkout for insurance. Probably 2 hrs required by the Insurance Co.

See if @kortopates is close enough... Awesome Mooney CFII, his primary steed is an M20K...

His office is a bit south from LA I believe...

Double check your insurance requirement... they usually come in chunks of dual and solo... 10hrs of dual is a common number...

Do you have an insurance guy?  We have a really good one around here...

I am in San Diego and go up there often to do transition training with new owners. In fact I am up there week after next for 3 days with a new Ovation owner. PM me if interested.

This might work! I do have another CFI, but we are not certain as to his availability. I’m thinking this could be about Jan 26 or Feb 2.

My name is Van Davis. I’m a former USAF pilot (B-52s & FB-111s) ~5000 hrs, CFI/CFII ~1200 GA hrs, 1000 hrs CFI & current 

1 hr in a M20J  

I should hear back this week from the insurance Co on how much time they require  A previous quote was 2 hrs  I’ll probably want a little more before I bring it back to NC.

LOL, my call sign in the USAF was VanGo. Changed my unit, but everyone still knew me as VanGo. Call sign had to change, so my last call sign was Vincent.  

I’m using Parker Woodruff now, but haven’t signed anything yet.  Who’s your recommendation?

Yep Parker manages to pull deals and save you money when other premiums go up.... definitely chat with him!
