Johnny U Posted November 28, 2020 Report Posted November 28, 2020 Hi- Long term lurker and now member- finally joined MS a few weeks ago! If all goes well after the test flight and pre-buy inspection, we will take ownership of an M20F on or around 12/5/20 and will need a ferry pilot to bring it from Hannibal, MO to Oakland, CA sometime shortly thereafter. Are there any geographically nearby folks who have the minimum 50 hours M20F time required by insurance? PM me with any proposals! -Johnny U Quote
corn_flake Posted November 28, 2020 Report Posted November 28, 2020 How about take a CFI with you and flying it home your self? Log some hours and satisfy the training requirements for the insurance. Quote
Johnny U Posted November 28, 2020 Author Report Posted November 28, 2020 That was the original (and way better!) idea and it seems like a wasted opportunity, but in the interest of mitigating risk, we are foregoing that idea and just going to keep it simple and ferry it. Quote
Lance Link Posted November 28, 2020 Report Posted November 28, 2020 Check the Mooney Flyer web site. The list a few folks. There used to be a guy out of Oakland with a ton of Mooney time who did this. Ron something I think. Quote
eman1200 Posted November 28, 2020 Report Posted November 28, 2020 One of these days I’m gonna grab one of these requests. Quote
corn_flake Posted November 29, 2020 Report Posted November 29, 2020 John, I would do it for you, but you'll have to fly me back to Bakersfield!! 1 Quote
Culver LFA Posted November 29, 2020 Report Posted November 29, 2020 I may be able to work this into my schedule. 400+ hrs of M20F time (Johnson & Electric gear), my total time is 800+. I'm in Atlanta GA so it's easy to airline to the Mooney and to get me back home. -Joe 77o-776-9oo7 Private pilot Glider/CSEL, IFR, High Performance, TW & Complex Quote
RobertGary1 Posted November 29, 2020 Report Posted November 29, 2020 My understanding is that you also need a current class 2 medical as even just logging free time and not charging is considered a commercial operation by the faa. -Robert 2 Quote

MooneyPoor Posted November 30, 2020 Report Posted November 30, 2020 Good Evening, I’m hoping to close on a Mooney early December in Pacific North West. I could ferry your Mooney to you on my way out. I exceed your Listed minimums and am current CSEL. If interested, just send me a message. frank Quote

MooneyPoor Posted November 30, 2020 Report Posted November 30, 2020 @Culver LFA I miss that F for sure! I spent the entire Covid summer wishing I had never sold it especially when worked slowed down. Then Jimmy G sent an email with a really nice looking J and I knew i had to get back in fun. Recently moved to Amelia Island so we need a family transporter back to Atlanta to visit family and I hate driving. 3 Quote

Best regards, -a- I've gotten several PMs (including Frank) and have been trying to respond as quickly as possible- this has turned out to be fertile ground and I am feeling very appreciative of the time people have taken to respond or make proposals.
