Out of curiosity, what role would Jewell as an engine shop have? Will be very interested to see how speed brake upgrade looks from top and bottom! I have yet to see one. Expand Yes the brakes are now dual pucks. Jewell will be doing an overhaul on my engine. It's past TBO and it's tired. We're sending them the engine with the turbo, waste gate, prop governor, and fuel pump. They'll send them off for the requisite overhauls and conversions to make it an SB engine. We're waiting on a couple of parts from Precise and then the speed brakes will be done. 1 Quote

sodbuster Posted November 25, 2020 Report Posted November 25, 2020 (edited) Sorry, DavidB, I was the "razor" who put the deposit down. I, too, have been lurking around waiting for an Encore to show up for three years or so. Having seen some of the prices others have gone at, I just figured there was some room for minor problems at this asking price, and if there were major problems, I could walk at the inspection. It is, indeed, a very tight market, which played a role in how I chose to navigate the purchase process. P.S. What exactly is a "razor" in this context?? :-) I guess I'm not down with the cool kids, if I have to ask. Edited November 25, 2020 by sodbuster Quote
