Rmag Posted June 10, 2020 Report Posted June 10, 2020 (edited) Enjoy Edited June 12, 2020 by Rmag To add a second video on the GI 275 in Standby ADI configuration. 5
Neshi Posted June 10, 2020 Report Posted June 10, 2020 Enjoy Great video. In that one video you have given more info than of the Garman webinars that I’ve seen about it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
flysamo Posted June 11, 2020 Report Posted June 11, 2020 enjoyed video best explanation on the use of a G275 picking up my 275 converted mooney set up next week and this video sure helps
Danb Posted June 11, 2020 Report Posted June 11, 2020 Nice equipment, the industry has evolved unbelievably over the last two decades

Can the touchscreen items also be reached by pressing the knobs to move from field to field? I could see in turbulence it being difficult to touch the correct item with Mongo fingers. BTW -- where is Peter Garmin? He should be commenting how small the text is on these units. Err, I'm sorry. He only does that when Aspen units are being discussed. My bad. 1
Rmag Posted June 12, 2020 Author Report Posted June 12, 2020 Pressing the PFD knob toggles between the set barometric pressure and standard Barometric pressure. Pressing the HSI knob sets the heading bug to your current heading. Long presses of the knobs brings up options, messages, menus, etc. The text is actually not too small. The major items like airspeed, altitude, heading, barometric pressure font sizes are similar to my G500 TXi in the Mooney. HSI numbers are just as big. We were originally going to use G5’s but after I saw the clarity and number sizes on these units we sold the G5’s on another job and bought these. The G5’s comparatively have much smaller fonts.
carusoam Posted June 12, 2020 Report Posted June 12, 2020 Readability is awesome! I can read them from a couple hundred miles away... G500TXi... it takes extra strong financial control to not just hit the buy now button... Best regards, -a-
Rmag Posted June 12, 2020 Author Report Posted June 12, 2020 Just added an overview of the GI 275 in Standby ADI configuration. 1
flyboy0681 Posted June 12, 2020 Report Posted June 12, 2020 My favorite part of the video was the approach to landing in the 150. That brought back a ton of memories and looks like so much fun.

That brought back a ton of memories and looks like so much fun. I have to admit, the first time I took the C150 up, my approach was way too far out and low because I was so used to flying the Mooney. Took a few times around the patch to get it back...
Tom H Posted December 19, 2020 Report Posted December 19, 2020 Mooneyspace.com liked your video of your GI275 installation in the Cessna. i fly out Solberg and wonder if i could come down and look at the imstallation? thalvo@aol.com tom Halvorson 908415-9873
squeaky.stow Posted December 19, 2020 Report Posted December 19, 2020 @Rmag Thanks for these. You should be asking Garmin for a commission. My avionics shop was pitching the GI275 to me as a backup ADI for my Aspen. I was on the fence due to the cost. They sent me a YouTube link to your Standby ADI video and it clinched it for me. I am so impressed with how much capability is packed into this little device. 1
carusoam Posted December 19, 2020 Report Posted December 19, 2020 Welcome aboard, Tom! +1 For letting @Rmag know you are asking him a question about a visit... he was just here yesterday... (he has two notifications now...) So expect he’ll be by soon again... Best regards, -a-
RobertGary1 Posted December 26, 2020 Report Posted December 26, 2020 One thing I don’t like. If you don’t keep all the databases updated in the 275 you get a warning on the display. But the databases have very little value in the pfd/ mfd modes especially if you already have a Garmin navigator
