BillYesIAm Posted March 6, 2020 Report Posted March 6, 2020 Hi, 76 M20C. Looking for an engine grounding strap. Or Mooney part number? Or alternate source? Checked Spruce and Chief already. Or somewhere I could get it made? It appears to be about an inch wide, flat, and braided copper. Goes from engine to frame. Mine is worn halfway through. The shop changing out my engine said they’re having a hard time finding a replacement. Thanks - Bill Quote
Guest Posted March 6, 2020 Report Posted March 6, 2020 I’ve looked thru the IPC sand can’t find the part number. The battery ground cable from a Cessna 150 is very close, p/n 1412007-9. Or buy braided ground cable from Spruce, slip one inside another then crimp on Amp battery cable terminal ends to suit your length. Clarence Quote
KSMooniac Posted March 6, 2020 Report Posted March 6, 2020 I would just have them make a new one from a suitable battery cable... Just make sure there is enough slack for the engine to wiggle.Sent from my LG-US996 using Tapatalk Quote

N201MKTurbo Posted March 6, 2020 Report Posted March 6, 2020 I just had the local shop crimp lugs on a piece of #4 tefzel and ran it from the prop governor bolt to a spare nutplate on the firewall. It fixed a lot of weirdness. Quote
