RobertGary1 Posted December 21, 2019 Report Posted December 21, 2019 I’m temporarily based at a different airport and was surprised to find some recently deceased on my plane. What could attract such morbidity? Quote
carusoam Posted December 21, 2019 Report Posted December 21, 2019 I’m not dead yet - Monty Python... Ever see a lizard push start an IO360? Lizards typically are searching for warmth, until they just can’t get any.... So... he may be sleeping Where you find one pest... their family isn’t far away...keep both eyes open... RobertGary1 Posted December 21, 2019 Author Report Posted December 21, 2019 Trying to work out how the rat could end up on top of the wing. Even if he found a weakness in my rat sock that wouldn’t get him on top. And I assume they can’t stick to the underside like a gecko. -Robert Quote
amillet Posted December 21, 2019 Report Posted December 21, 2019 I found a similar creature dead at the back of the hangar a few years ago. I surmised a neighbor had put out poison and the rat made it to our hangar before it succumbed. Maybe yours fell from overhead? 1 Quote
KB4 Posted December 21, 2019 Report Posted December 21, 2019 Cover the rodent entrance point in the mains wheel well. Heard story of guy couldn't figure out why yellow dust was appearing. Discovered rodents nested in wings and their feces corroded and made a 30k mess. Quote

I don’t see that’s how they could possibly have gotten where they were. -Robert 1 Quote
0TreeLemur Posted December 21, 2019 Report Posted December 21, 2019 Weird. They just love your plane to death! I'm going with the "rat fell from above" theory @carusoam's suggestion that the lizard died trying to push start the engine is the funniest thing I've heard in a while! 1 Quote
LANCECASPER Posted December 21, 2019 Report Posted December 21, 2019 These may be the same animals that said “I wouldn’t be caught dead on a Cirrus”. 2 1 Quote
