Aerodon Posted May 17, 2019 Report Posted May 17, 2019 So I had a peak behind the panel, and found this wonderful fire hazard. Has been shortening nicely against the GNS480 tray. Easy enough to insulate properly, I guess the installer must have had a distraction (being kind). The rest of the wiring looks pretty good. Now what would require a couple of relays? Standard KCS55A compass system, GNS480. PmA7000B audio panel. KFC150. Something to do with the annunciator panel? Or maybe WoW and Gear Up 'signals' for the GTX345? Aerodon 1
N201MKTurbo Posted May 17, 2019 Report Posted May 17, 2019 (edited) Start doing things and see what makes them click or trace out the wires. I made a complete set of schematics for my avionics install before I started. My avionics guy says nobody does that. Edited May 17, 2019 by N201MKTurbo 2
Guitarmaster Posted May 17, 2019 Report Posted May 17, 2019 I think, "installer" might be a bit generous.Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk 2
Yetti Posted May 21, 2019 Report Posted May 21, 2019 It's a relay.... or two of them... One of the might not be working anymore based on the magic smoke it has been making. https://www.te.com/commerce/DocumentDelivery/DDEController?Action=showdoc&DocId=Specification+Or+Standard108-98007LpdfEnglishENG_SS_108-98007_L.pdf8-1393792-8
thinwing Posted May 22, 2019 Report Posted May 22, 2019 Interesting use of prototyping board with no insulation to protect rather lousy soldered connections. This needed to be mounted in a project box for short protection. 1
