Davidv Posted January 31, 2019 Report Posted January 31, 2019 Does anyone happen to know the part number for the o ring that sits on the fitting that connects to the oil line to the cylinder on the 540-AF1B? It looks like mine need to be replaced but my engine shop can’t seem to find the part number in the Lycoming book. Thanks! Quote

The hoses screw on to an elbow (figure #2, part # 72376) on the front two cylinders, and then on the rest of the cylinders the hoses screw on to a tee (figure #4, part #74369). It is very easy to cross thread these and mess up the threads. Hand tighten them until you are sure they are on square and then tighten down with a 7/16". They will want to loosen up by themselves, so every oil change or if you have the top cowl off in between oil changes make sure they are snug. Quote
RLCarter Posted February 1, 2019 Report Posted February 1, 2019 and if over tightened it damages either/both of the flares Quote

After talking with a few service centers it appears that many aren’t adhering to the exact process to put these on (adding extra parts) which is one of the reasons we couldn’t find the part. Quote
