Jerry Pressley Posted March 23, 2018 Report Posted March 23, 2018 Now I am confused!!!!! I looked at the above listed AD very closely and could not find a reference to serial numbers not affected. Only the A and B hub are exempt. And the required peening refers to the blade shank as far as I can find. Cant find anywhere peening is required on the hub. Of course the prop shops I checked with could be wrong but i would really like to show them documentation to prove them wrong. Quote
Jerry Pressley Posted March 23, 2018 Report Posted March 23, 2018 one more little consideration....if you have a prop strike of any sort with that nice new hefty B hub then you are hung for another hub if the blades are usable as is the case in a great number of instances. The B hub has a flange that gives way with pressure on the shank in almost every instance of strike. The eddy current ones had a heavier flange and in most cases are reusable. I owned a prop shop for years so this is not just blowing smoke. Would be glad to show you an example of each hub. Quote
