Good - idea.  Here's some pictures from before.  And her old identify as N10933.

It wasn't bad but the paint was getting a fair bit faded and some chips and a bit tired.  I could fake it with massive doses of wax but to my eye I could see it was a 20 year old paid job.  

Also see the gap on the nose cone was not quite right, but most of all the diameter was not right.  In the first picture on this thread, the one with the yellow tape on the nose cone, you can see that I had the nose cone replaced during this period of painting and the tape is there to show me the new diameter is much better.

It's also getting new windows all around.

Its not all blue - but mostly blue.  More soon.

That's a really pretty blue! Be sure and post a picture in bright sunlight so we can get the full sparkle effect.

As I was driving home last night a streak of blue caught my eye on I-95, I glanced over and sure enough a mustang in the Kona Blue color, I couldn't keep my eyes off it! Great color choice Erik!

:-). Thanks!  Thats what happened when I saw it at a car dealer.  It is really something in the daylight too.  I like that its a chameleon color and has a lot of different looks in different kinds of light.

No, it's off-white and four shades of red.

And now you get an idea of the design.  The yellow is just masking tape of course.  See lots of simple straight lines so mostly its a blue plane with the idea that the strength of the paint itself would be the idea of the paint job.  I had a classic Shelby Cobra in mind when I thought I wanted to go this way and I figured straight lines at 90 degrees from the nose would be a fun way to offset the four blade prop.

And checkers.  The tail is Matt black with checkers.

This is the Ford Mustang I was looking at and showed the painter when I was dreaming designs and picking the color.  I figured muscle car look for a muscle car of airplanes look.

The race stripes worked out well over the tail! Looks great!! Hopefully you don't need to buy the car too. 

Now, who is the owner of the Shark mouthed 182!! Lol.
