When does your registration renewal card arrive in the mail?

I’m due for renewal in June. Last time I never received the card and had to deal with a bunch paperwork to get it straightened out and ended up nearly grounded. How long should I wait for that code before I do the paper forms?

According to the FAA.  you can renew your registration online 6 months in advance...  We are due in May so we renewed this month online..  not need to wait for the renewal .. just get it done and not worry for another few years...

Not to sidetrack the conversation, but are you supposed to get a sticker of some kind for the plane? Ours was registered last year when we bought it, and it has an AZ sticker on it, but we have never seen anything from the FAA other than the actual registration which is kept in the plane. Was that just something the state of AZ did?

I never use the cbp stickers. I just pay the fee at that the border each time with the form; when the sticker comes in the mail later I toss it. No requirement to use the sticker just need to present the completed form with cc number to the officer.    Don’t like stickers. :)

Me neither.  I just keep a copy of the receipt with me showing compliance.  I’ve yet to test out but from what I’ve read they just care about the fee.

Worse case they just have you fill out the form to buy another one.
