jetdriven Posted March 13, 2018 Report Posted March 13, 2018 (edited) Those access panels leak water and Mooney owners are always repairing radios that go bad beicae of it. Good thing they have those access panels to repair and replace those radios so often. It’s a self-eating watermelon. If you have close fitting access panels and seal them down wirh something like CS3330B2 or similar, it’s ok. Otherwise they leak. Mooney owners being cheap, think they can put Saran Wrap on the plane and squirt hardware store silicone on the panels and tighten them down, creating a permanent molded gasket. No. Or hardware store open cell foam weatherstripping. No. Or nothing at al. No. It’s al great until they take a trip and it sits on the ramp over the weekend, getting rained on. Then as soon as the plane takes off into the clouds and rain, the gear comes up, and the radios quit working. Edited March 13, 2018 by jetdriven 1 Quote
