spectre6573 Posted October 20, 2017 Report Posted October 20, 2017 Been seeing a large amount of Drop outs on ADS-B using stratux. Anybody else have the samething? How about you Stratus 2s users? Quote
MIm20c Posted October 20, 2017 Report Posted October 20, 2017 I have the stratus 2. No dropouts and sometimes it connects on the ground. Planning on connecting it to an external antenna but not in a rush to do so. Quote
spectre6573 Posted October 20, 2017 Author Report Posted October 20, 2017 how many hours in the last couple of months. It seems that the problem just started Quote
lamont337 Posted October 20, 2017 Report Posted October 20, 2017 I mentioned this in another thread, here's a link to the Stratux discussion: https://github.com/cyoung/stratux/issues/631 Quote
lamont337 Posted October 26, 2017 Report Posted October 26, 2017 Fore flight 9.4.3 released 10/25/17 is supposed to fix this issue. Will try to test in the next day or so. Quote
EricJ Posted October 26, 2017 Report Posted October 26, 2017 FWIW, I've been flying (both PIC and passenger in a buddy's plane) recently with two tablets; a Galaxy 7 with FltPln Go and a Galaxy 3 with Avare. My buddy uses FltPln Go, but configured a bit differently than mine (he has an older version and also has cellular connectivity). All three of them behave differently, even on long flights connected to the same Stratux, in both my airplane and his. I've recently switched to using Avare in both tabs because FltPln Go has been so flakey with connectivity to the Stratux (plus some other issues). FWIW, Avare does also have the occassional connection issue as well, but not bad at all compared to what I was seeing with FltPln and seems to respond well to configuration changes. So it appears to have a lot of dependence on which EFB is being used. It looks like the discussion in the link cited above is primarily focused on ForeFlight. Quote
takair Posted October 29, 2017 Report Posted October 29, 2017 Flew Foreflight 9.4.3 today for almost 2.5 hours. Seemed to fix the issue with Stratux and the no traffic issue I was having with Navworx. 1 Quote
spectre6573 Posted November 3, 2017 Author Report Posted November 3, 2017 Just to follow up. After the recent bug update from foreflight, everything seems to have calmed down. there have been little to no issues anymore like before and my faith is restored. This was a foreflight issues and not a stratux or stratus issue. Quote
