Hank Posted October 4, 2017 Report Posted October 4, 2017 Leaps and bounds, Anthony!! My 129nm trip home was "cleared right turn on course, contact Departure" so low theynwere very broken on the radio, maybe 800 msl. But they kept me at 3000 for almost 20 minutes before giving me the 7000 I had filed. After the first minute and a half, i did t see anytning except milk-bottle white for another hour. But at least I was Direct . . . No VORs, no vectors, no nothing. See you next year!
kpaul Posted October 4, 2017 Report Posted October 4, 2017 I was given "runway heading" followed by "as filed" Of course my flight was a bit shorter than most.
201er Posted October 4, 2017 Report Posted October 4, 2017 Video of riding down to the Summit with @Alan Fox and right seat formation flying with @gsxrpilot 2
flyboy0681 Posted October 4, 2017 Report Posted October 4, 2017 Outstanding video Mike, especially the last few minutes. The quality is interesting because it doesn't look like video but live TV, what was it shot on?
DanM20C Posted October 4, 2017 Report Posted October 4, 2017 I enjoyed the video too. Glad you got some footage from the formation flight, and Alan sleeping. The weather was outstanding for the Summit. Somehow we got tailwinds both ways. How often does that happen? 1760nm round trip with and average ground speed of 177kts. Cheers, Dan 1
