Fuel Flow On my 1999 M20R

I am new to the forum but i had a question maybe someone has had experience with???

I was flying in central Texas today at 4500 feet all was well until i switched tanks and the fuel flow guage went to 0 

so i quickly went back to the other tank and it did not solve the problem. good news is that the engine never faultered. so i figured it must be a problem with the guage. 10 more mins. into flight it came back on and has worked the rest of the day. 

my guages are bar type as well as digital right below the bar. but they look like there all connected together in one case. 

any ideas or help would be appreciated.

It is not rare for a fuel flow gauge to read zero or low flow on ocassions. The sender has a spinning wheel that at times may get stuck with a fuel particle. After 1000 hours sedimentation can build up inside the housing causing to to read low or zero at times. The sender can be easily cleaned by spraying carburator cleaner inside it. Blow air by mouth to hear the spinning wheel.
