milotron Posted February 4, 2017 Report Posted February 4, 2017 Here is a question for those that have pulled their interior: How are the armrest pads fastened to the plastic panel in a 1981 J or K? The leather trim panels push on with spring clips and can be readily pulled off. Do the arm rests screw in from the back or are they secured in a similar fashion? Thanks, Quote
LANCECASPER Posted February 4, 2017 Report Posted February 4, 2017 They have little pointed plastic clips on them. To avoid damaging the leather trim panel you might want to take the seat out and the side panel off. 1 Quote
Yetti Posted February 4, 2017 Report Posted February 4, 2017 (edited) Not sure if it was the factory or someone else, but some contact cement was applied to mine to hold them in place in addition to the spring clips. Should pop off given some upward pressure. There is a panel screw that needs to come out behind the arm rest. Edited February 4, 2017 by Yetti 1 Quote
milotron Posted February 4, 2017 Author Report Posted February 4, 2017 thanks guys. I'll see if it pops off without taking other parts of the panel with it. I assumed that was the case, but they seemed really tight. Maybe there is some contact cement behind mine too. I know the side panels have glue residue in behind them. Quote
