charheep Posted January 3, 2017 Report Posted January 3, 2017 To risk becoming a nuisance or more of a nuisance, here is another listing that I am interested in and need help with. Of course, its on the other side of the country from me, so I was hoping someone might be in New Mexico. This one popped up and I was wondering if someone can lay eyes on it for me? Or has any comments on the listing in general? http://www.trade-a-plane.com/search?listing_id=2226176&s-type=aircraft If this is in the wrong section, let me know. Thanks -John
zaitcev Posted January 8, 2017 Report Posted January 8, 2017 I'm in the market and I noted that listing, but my mission requirements do not make N3510N worth $50k. The airplane was maintained, but it's a long body, so it's heavier than E, so a couple of knots slower. Avionics is a hodge-podge of ancient equipment like KT76. I'd fly out to have a look if it were selling for $43k. I'd love you to explain me what drew your attention. A gentleman just on the other side of White Sands from Alamagordo, in Socorro, was selling an M20C a month ago. 1500 SMOH, but $32k. Now that was a good deal. I wasn't fast enough. If you're interested, why not ask the seller for more information, such as pictures and logbooks?
RocketAviator Posted January 8, 2017 Report Posted January 8, 2017 The images of this Mooney appear to taken Serria Blanca i.e. Ruidoso airport in NM. I'm not familiar with this plane. I was raised in Alamo & learned to fly there 35 years ago, graduated high school in Ruidoso. Alamo is 20 min & Ruidoso It's about a 40 min flight for me. PM me if you get serious and I can help. 1

I learned on those radios, so I am familiar with them. The engine time and recent-ish work drew me to it. I agree the price seems high, but its a good starting spot. Seems to me that its hard finding a F model that has time and years left on the engine that isnt priced 10-15k high. about the last 5 planes I looked at seemed to have engines that are old enough to vote and a few that could buy a beer. 1
carusoam Posted January 10, 2017 Report Posted January 10, 2017 Are you a candidate for an M20G? All the volume of the F, but has the classic O360 180 hp engine... The E's IO360 used to command 10AMU over the C. To go from C to F used to include two 10AMU bumps. One for the IO360 and the other for the extra legroom in the back... Best regards, -a-
Mcstealth Posted January 10, 2017 Report Posted January 10, 2017 I am close to Carlsbad. Maybe they can hop it over and I could go thru it for you? Only if you are serious obviously.

Only if you are serious obviously. I got the logs and had Savvy review them. No glaring issue. They mentioned it was treated with CorrosionX in 1996 but no record of it since so they say to watch out for corrosion. I am still interested in the plane. I will send you a pm 1
DXB Posted January 25, 2017 Report Posted January 25, 2017 This is kinda the plane I wish I'd gotten- last year of the J-bar in an F, without the one off twisted wing in the '67 F. Dump 100k into this plane and you will essentially have a J model with a J-bar
