There are other posts about LED lamps, but generally, they do not work well with the rheostat dimmers on most Mooney's.  If there are any incandescent bulbs, the LED's will suck up all the current, so if you try to turn down the rheostat, you'll wind up with very dim incandescent bulbs and almost fully bright LED's.  If it's on a switched circuit and there is no dimmer, it will probably work ok.

The alternative is to install a PWM (pulse width modulation) dimmer, which works with both LED's and incandescent lights.  Some might question whether this introduces RF intereference, but there are a couple people who've installed them.

Then there's the question of whether installing interior light bulbs is allowed by the owner (it seems the answer is technically no).
