Bob Posted November 28, 2010 Author Report Posted November 28, 2010 Roger, It is my understanding that the sync between the two wingtip stobes is lost when the Whelen unit is used. Is this true! Any extra info? I would rather replace with a new part as you stated, but I trying to get by for a couple years till the LEDs are more reachable and legal. Quote

Bob Posted November 29, 2010 Author Report Posted November 29, 2010 Thanks for the information and help! Looks like I am going to order a Whelen unit. Quote
Ron McBride Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 I had a strobe system installed in my F. I believe it was a Whelen system. I have one power supply in the avionics bay. Can you convert your system to do the same? Would be more labor up front for the conversion, probably cheaper than replacing 3 power supplies. If you completed the conversion at annual time, this would cut down some of the time involved. You would lose a little weight. Ron Quote
OR75 Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 I still have the original Hoskins 701295-3A on both wings but the are not sync'ed. I did not know those strobe could be sync'ed. It must be that a wire must be pulled between the 2 boxes Can you confirmed that indeed the 2 strobes can be sync'ed ? Quote
NotarPilot Posted May 3, 2013 Report Posted May 3, 2013 Do you still need one of these. I removed mine and one might be sold which means one is still available. It's the Hoskins 701295-3A. Quote
