BRBENNETT Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 1967 M20F, MANUAL TRIM. this is in regards to the trim wheel, what sort of backlash is normal? In other words, if you wiggle the wheel forwards / backwards what sort of slop do you see before movement of the trim actually occurs. i am seeing about 5-10 degrees. i am curious what others are seeing. carusoam Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 My C with approx. 5k flight hours was enough to feel when adding or removing some trim. Probably less than a 1/4” of travel on the trim wheel's outer edge. There is an adjustable friction device on the system making it easy to tell if you are moving just the wheel vs. changing the trim. Yetti Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 Chain, right angle drive, mini u joints, Acme Screw, linkage. 5 degrees is probably really close to gineering specs Quote
