Mine hanger is up hill with a lip.   If you can find some 1890s wood siding off a house it has the perfect dimensions to fix the lip.   The airport manager gave me a Engine Driven Nose dragger.  The engine was toast so $90.00 Harbor Freight engine and it works again.

In lieu of 1890s siding, I built up some layers of scrap 1/8” 'plywood'?

The nice part of using this archaic ramp system...  If you are not lined up on the ramps, it sort of prevents hangar rash from magically occurring....  Don't accidently make the ramps too wide.

On the flight yesterday I noticed all the buttons on the 430 were really 'stiff'.  I had to press them really hard to get some of them to work the first time.

Comm 2 is an old King unit.  I noticed I could not get reception from an airport about 30 miles away so I'm not sure if this is normal or if I should research it.  The 430 picked it up fine.

I would press the buttons 100x each to loosen them up a little...you don't want them to slow inputting data in flight.

the antenna for the King unit might be in a different location that might not be as efficient.  What altitude were you flying at the time?

I have a lip on my hangar too.  No way I was going to wrestle with that every time I wanted to fly, CB or not.  I bought a power tow (new, full price) and I'm glad I did.  Great little tow, wonderful company to work with.  They have adapters for the Mooney.

Press each button on the 430 several dozen times. Literally. Just push push push on one, 40 50 60 times, then move to the next button and repeat. It helps. Buttons you don't use much, push like this once a year or so.

For the handy cheap Mooney driver, buy a snow blower from Lowes for $500, unbolt the blower attachment and build a tow attachment.  For under $600 you have a new tug.  Saw something like this on the RV forum.  Thinking about this as my 60+ yr old body is finding it harder to push my K than my 40 body pushing my old 63 C model.

Pictreed, any more pictures?

Soon.  I should be 'closing' by the weekend.

I've got some pics and flight video after I get through editing this other video.

My hangar has a little rise going into it. Back before I built my tug, I pushed it in a few times by myself using a system of two 2x4 blocks. Push on one wing, kick the block in to chock that side; go push other wing; kick block in place; repeat, repeat. I really appreciate my tug. Especially since I have about $450 in parts in it.  As far as I'm concerned, its only draw-back is it is not really portable.

The original ASI is technically the required backup for the aspen which is primary. I admit I look at the analog quite a bit while landing. I can't find a pic of a close up of the 2 but this shot is pretty high res and you can view fill size and move around.

I'm insanely jealous. I have yet to formally train and fly mine. Keep the pictures coming for those of us grounded for the time being!

I've been living through your thread so I'll see what I can do.
