ThepilotKeller Posted January 29, 2016 Report Posted January 29, 2016 Didn't I see this plane listed for sale somewhere? Trade-A-Plane or Lasar perhaps. I've been keeping an eye on the market as I am hoping to to be a serious buyer within the next year. Love your Paint scheme BTW. Also, why are you more interested in a B model over the F model? Quote

Just to be clear, Bravos are not M20Bs, they are M20Ms, Turbo, 270 HP, some with FIKI: a far more capable plane. Quote
ThepilotKeller Posted February 1, 2016 Report Posted February 1, 2016 Thank you for that clarification. I am as my member profile accurately reflects a "Newbie." I'm trying to get a good handle on the differences between the Mooney models. Quote
carusoam Posted February 1, 2016 Report Posted February 1, 2016 See if this helps. This comes from some aged memories and may have some errors or wishful thinking.... Selecting a Mooney based on it's engine is an easy way to simplify the choices. M20 - wood wings and tail. Born with a 150hp engine. M20A - born with a wooden tail, most have been updated. M20B, C, - 180hp carbureted engine short body. Lyc O360. M20D - a C born with fixed gear. Lyc O360 M20E - a C born with 200hp fuel injected engine. Lyc IO360 M20G - a C with a 10" stretch in the back seat. Lyc O360 M20F - a G with an E's Powerplant. Lyc IO360 M20J - a modern version of an F. Lyc IO360 - 201, Missile - Continental IO550 M20K - a TC'd Continental powered J. 6cyl Continental - 231, Rocket, 252 M20L - Porsche powered Long Body. Few Porsche power plants are left operating. M20M - The first real capable LongBody. Lyc TSIO540. - TLS - The Bravo version is an engine mod to improve longevity. M20R - a super modern version of the F. Long Body up to 310 NA hp. - Ovation, Standing Ovation, M20S - 'entry' level of the M20R. Many have been updated to R level over the last 20 years. AKA Eagle. M20TN - an S with a TN'd IO550. AKA Acclaim. I am only a PP, not a mechanic or CFI. Let me know what details I have missed. Best regards, -a- Quote
dlthig Posted February 1, 2016 Report Posted February 1, 2016 This is most certainly a thread creep, but here is a fairly comprehensive list... http://www.mooneyevents.com/chrono.htm 1 Quote
