cliffy Posted December 22, 2015 Report Posted December 22, 2015 For those with long life batteries (4-7 yrs) is it mounted in back in the tail cone or up behind the engine?
carusoam Posted December 22, 2015 Report Posted December 22, 2015 Short battery life, mounted in the back.... Best regards, -a-
Marauder Posted December 22, 2015 Report Posted December 22, 2015 My soon to be 12 year old Concorde RX-35 is mounted in the back. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
cliffy Posted December 22, 2015 Author Report Posted December 22, 2015 My short battery life is up front where its hot.
takair Posted December 22, 2015 Report Posted December 22, 2015 My used to be long life battery (3-5 years pre 2010) and now short life (less than 2 years) is in the tail. Ironically I had better results when I had a generator that that didn't regulate all that well. Perhaps it acted as a poor mans conditioner?
tony Posted December 23, 2015 Report Posted December 23, 2015 I've had my Concorde for 8 years, no battery minder and its mounted in the tail.
StevenL757 Posted December 23, 2015 Report Posted December 23, 2015 Yep, as Anthony and others mentioned, both Ovation batteries are in the avionics bay...behind the baggage area. 8 years on Concordes with no battery minder? Are you flying the AC weekly or more frequently? My RG24-15s are going on their 4th year and are going strong with no batt minder, so sounds like you're doing something right! :-)
Guest Posted December 23, 2015 Report Posted December 23, 2015 Concorde makes a good battery, we just brought one back from the dead. It has been sitting since July 2012 through 3 Canadian winters and it survived. Clarence
