Hey guys, I'm in the talks with Justin from 32right.com, which specialized in aviation apparel. He just released his newest typographical shirt, which is basically a jumble of words about said aircraft, in the shape of said aircraft (See below):

Capture_zpsvjbs18en.jpg

The 177 is his latest, and I approached him about a Mooney shirt. He is interested in making one. So now we are calling out to the community. First off, please describe the "Mooney ideal" in short basic words (economic, fast, laminar flow, etc etc) and if you are interested in one! The shirts appear to start at $22. I am not affiliated or making anything with this, I'm simply in love with the design/idea and want one to show I'm a true Mooniac. You can see more at www.32right.com.

As far as the design, we have decided on the M20J, but will be using collective words from the whole "fleet"

Ovation: Fastest normally aspirated factory built four seat airplane on or off the planet...IO-550

Acclaim: Fastest Turbo-normalized factory built four seat airplane in the FLs...TNIO-550

One Size large, verify price and delivery prior to making.

Verify speed claims with the Mooney marketing department. They have a history of being more creative writers than me.

leave some room for my first Mooney on there somewhere...

Best regards,

He can abstract his typography from Mooneyspace to get a more accurate "real world" list of words.  We'd see in large type

LOP

ROP

Camguard

CB

Garmin

Aspen

There you go that's about it :-).

Cool idea though ...

Good choice on choosing the J, that is accepted as the best Mooney Model ever produced,

Directional Gyro

King Stack

Engine Gauges/Annunciators Check

Rotate at Vr

Speedbrakes

 Cowl Flaps

Takeoff Flaps (15°)

From what I hear, your "wood" can get soft and weak as it gets older.  Stick to metal and it will always stay stiff.

None of those really "define" a Mooney. I appreciate the enthusiasm, but they all apply to other airplanes. We're looking for Mooney-only words.

I've taken cowl flaps and speedbrakes from this list. The rest don't "make" a Mooney. More universal, if anything.

Picture for Mooney needs to be a side view.

Otherwise it might be confused as a p51. My wife got me one with the phonetic alphabet for Christmas.

I have a different product idea...a schematic/3 view of different planes...they do it for some of the Star Wars ships on shirts. It would be neat for some GA planes.

I would add all of the individual model names (I can't recall them all, but others will); Executive, Ovation, Acclaim, Super E, Chaparelle, Lean Machine...

Saw this on Mooney Pilots FB page.  Looks like a good start and shows the tail off well.  (The 1970 date has been brought up to the designer)

This design is really sharp.   It would be nice to have it generalized to encompass the non-Js that some of us own using phrases above.  I'd buy one then.

I applaud the effort but they may want to hire an editor. There are a few erroneous markings including the Lycoming code for the engine (no such thing as an O-360-A1B6D fuel-injected 200HP engine). Also "cowling" doesn't have an "e".

Sorry to nit-pick but there are several things in the text that are questionable.
