Texasmooneypilot Posted October 26, 2015 Report Posted October 26, 2015 Has anyone used Broadies Aircraft Maintenance at Ft. Worth Meacham airport? I am looking for a service center in the DFW area. Thanks/ Quote
Deb Posted October 26, 2015 Report Posted October 26, 2015 Don Maxwell at KGGG (Longview) is very highly regarded. Quote
jax88 Posted October 27, 2015 Report Posted October 27, 2015 I've used US Aviation in Denton for oil changes, wash/wax and always had great service. Can't attest to their mechanics, but they do maintain a varied fleet of training aircraft for the flight school they operate in conjunction with. If you can get to Don Maxwell, I'd certainly recommend doing so. Quote
DonMuncy Posted October 27, 2015 Report Posted October 27, 2015 U S Aviation is no longer working on planes other than their own fleet. Quote
Danb Posted October 28, 2015 Report Posted October 28, 2015 I used Don maxwell, on his field KGGG there is commercial flights back and forth to Dallas so if you want to bring your plane to the famed DMax you can either stay or fly home and come back. I flew from the Philadelphia area and commuted by Delta (I think), when I picked up my plane I brought my wife along and turned the return flight into an awesome vacation so if your looking at quality MSC with tons of recommendations then truck down to Dons. I was certain to use Don once every 4-5 years and my MSC locally for the other years of which Don stated was doing a very good job on my plane but my wife is already looking at another 10 day vacation somewhere, who the h, knows where. BigTex Posted October 28, 2015 Report Posted October 28, 2015 What kind of work are you needing done? If you're looking for annuals and/or Mooney specific work, then go to Don's place. Being on the east side of the Bravo airspace, it would likely be faster to go to Don's than dealing with DFW as Meacham is on the other side of the airspace. If it's something other than an annual and/or Mooney specific work, find a good A&P on your home field and use them. I'm based at Denton (KDTO) and that's what I do. Quote
