Loogie Posted September 5, 2015 Report Posted September 5, 2015 I am going to add oil temp and pressure to my JPI, can any of u smart folks confirm all I need for the task is these two things from spruce (see pic)? Also, I need new engine mounts, do I need anything else other than the Lord mounts I am ordering? My mechanic will do the work, but just want to make sure I am covering all the bases so the annual is not extended due to ordering parts. thanks Dave Quote
N601RX Posted September 5, 2015 Report Posted September 5, 2015 You may want to check with Chief. I recieved an email from them tonight about a Labor Day sell of 5-7% off and free shipping. Also their stuff is often cheaper than Spruce even without the discount. http://www.chiefaircraft.com Quote
Browncbr1 Posted September 7, 2015 Report Posted September 7, 2015 I believe you need the steel fittings to install the oil pressure sender. Also, let your mechanic put some Teflon or something on the threads to keep a good seal. Mine kept leaking at the fittings. Quote
Guest Posted September 7, 2015 Report Posted September 7, 2015 Teflon tape is great for plumbing like toilets and never for airplanes. Use Seal lube or Loctite 569 hydraulic thread sealant. The oil temperature probe and oil pressure transducer are what is needed. Normally the pressure transducer is mounted at the end of a high pressure hose. Mooney installs their transducers that way.
