hnorber Posted August 25, 2015 Report Posted August 25, 2015 Does anyone know the part number for my aft wingtip white position lights (28V Halogen bulbs)? Bonus points for a good recommendation on where to order one! Thanks in advance. -Howard
MB65E Posted August 25, 2015 Report Posted August 25, 2015 A508-28 I believe. If it has the little bayonet socket. Spruce should have good pricing. http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/elpages/whelenstrobesystema600.php?recfer=4538 -Matt

kortopates Posted August 26, 2015 Report Posted August 26, 2015 I had to replace the socket in mine too, which was a little harder to find. But although it should be obvious, those rear wing tip white lights also need to be sealed when you close it back up. The IPC list the specific 3M product that Mooney uses (I forget off the top of my head but its very common stuff and used in many other places as well). Without it, your next trip in any precipitation will likely short it out.
LuvFlying Posted November 2, 2015 Report Posted November 2, 2015 AWESOME! After trying to figure out this part number via the parts catalog I have, I had a V8 Moment and came here. Done! Thanks
MB65E Posted November 5, 2015 Report Posted November 5, 2015 I just recently found a 12v trailing edge LED nav light... PSA enterprises manufactures them, however they didn't have the 24v lamps. I talked with the owner who is an IA and is much more knowledgable than the owner of NAV-Strobe. The owner of NAV strobe is just an engineer/sales guy. The PSA guy discussed viewing angles and such for their paddle lamps. He was aware of the limitations of his product and is working on improving them. I'd put them on our working aircraft if they get their PMA or equivalency. Also, had an odd experiance with the 327 GE replacement LEDs. I ordered white... Just like the incandescent lamps I was replacing. However, the lamps project thru a green filter. (28v gear indicator lights). The lights were so bright that the visible color thru the filter was Blue!! Threw me off, thought I'd mention that. -Matt
