Yooper Rocketman Posted April 1, 2015 Report Posted April 1, 2015 ............. The Shell paper adds another procedure of interest, 1800 rpm for 15 seconds before shutdown.... Anyone perform this step in their shutdown procedure? Best regards, -a- You don't want to do that with a turbo! Quote
carusoam Posted April 2, 2015 Report Posted April 2, 2015 I didn't want to do it to my NA IO550 either...! Best regards, -a- Quote
Hank Posted April 2, 2015 Report Posted April 2, 2015 Never heard of it, either. My O-360 plugs stay pretty clean just leaning hard on the ground; it's only stumbled and tried to die twice, the first time when advancing the throttle to pull from grass parking back onto the taxiway. Push a little richer and it smooths back out, get going and lean a little more. Some annuals I hardly get any lead out of the plugs at all. Quote
Andy95W Posted April 2, 2015 Report Posted April 2, 2015 Just got back from the Aviall conference today. The Champion tech rep did a presentation and stated emphatically that he recommends 37BY's to anyone that needs a hotter spark and does not want to run fine wires. Considering the recent bad publicity about the Champions, he should have recommended that everybody buy Tempest! 1 Quote
